Neglected Dogs Need Your Help!
Jasper and Billy G are two found dogs that are requiring more financial resources than the usual rescue dog. Billy G is a shih tzu found wandering in a parking lot, looking for scraps of food. He clearly had been neglected for several years (per the vet). He suffers from a systemic skin infection (yeast) that has rendered him nearly hairless from head to toe and had nails up to two inches long. Jasper wandered up to a home looking for shelter, and instead was beaten over the head with a shovel.
To date, Billy's expenses exceed $800, and will approach $1300 before he is adoptable. Jasper's emergency treatments, neutering and boarding will be approximately $650. Kay and I are the animal league of gaston county rescuers that have them. We are covering part of their expenses, and their eventual adoption fees will cover some. Any assistance you could offer us would be greatly appreciated, and will allow us to continue helping more dogs.
These two dogs are requiring much more medical care than usual to get them healthy and make them adoptable. Both are great dogs, Jasper has a beautiful "sit" and is eager to find a human to love and obey. Billy G is feeling happier than he probably ever has felt, and plays well with other dogs of all sizes, and loves every person he encounters. Combined, their expenses will approach $2,000 before they can be adopted.
Donations are being handled by animal league of gaston county, and are tax-deductible. |

Jasper
The first post on Craigslist was for someone to come pick up their dog, a 70 lb puppy with a light blue collar. He had approached a good samaritan that couldn't bring him inside for his safety, because her housemates are afraid of big, black dogs. The next day her new post read like this:
"If this is your dog please hurry. He has a light blue colar on. He has been injured by these crazy rednecks that live beside me. I found him on sunday as he wondered up to my place of living. I fed him and let him sleep on my porch. I had plans to get up early monday to put signs out to find his owner. But before I could do so, the neighbors clocked him over the head with a shuvel. I searched all day yesterday for him (couldnt find him). I got up this early tuesday morning and there he was (scared shitless and bleeding pretty bad). He has massive head injury. I cant afford to take him to the hospital.....so if this is your dog please hurry. I live on Bolick Rd. If I dont find his owner soon I will be forced to call animal control as he is badly injured and needs care or will be put to sleep. Please call"
He was carried to a vet that afternoon, where he remains today. His entire head was bloody, but fortunately the cut was fairly clean. His facial swelling is starting to subside, and one eye is bright red from burst blood vessels. He has distinctive rooster claw marks on his nose.

Billy G
Two rescuers met in a parking lot to transfer a litter of puppies pulled from a high-kill gassing shelter. As they turned to leave, one spotted something moving across the pavement, like a bag of trash wafting and rolling by. Unbelievably, it was a dog.
Billy spent the night at the vet's. he was so beaten down and exhausted he wouldn't come out of his crate. The vet believes that Billy had been living outside, unattended medically for at least 2 years. He had goopy eyes, a major bacterial infection in his ears, and his nails were so long that I saw one of his front nails hook onto one of his back nails so that he tripped and fell down.
Several nails had grown in a circle, and were circling around for the second time. But his primary problem is yeast, in his skin, from head to toe. His skin is thick, black, and hot. He has extensive abnormal wrinkling. His yeast treatments will take at least 2-3 months. He is about 2-4 years old, and now we recognize him as a purebred shih tzu. |

Please, can you help us cover their expenses?
Any amount, just $5.00 even, will help these two deserving boys get well so they can find good, decent, loving homes and families of their own. We don't want Jasper to ever again suffer abuse just because he was lost, hungry and looking for shelter, and Billy should never again have to scrounge for food, or walk on inflamed feet, or suffer through the burning and itching.
All donations are being directed to and managed by the Animal League of Gaston County, www.algc.org, and are tax deductible.
Thank you for thinking kindly of our boys!
