Ruth's Garden

This unique Garden was established by Ms. Ruth Waggoner. It is a tranquil oasis where you can celebrate your special event, memorialize your beloved animal or honor that special "pet person" in your life. It features butterfly gardens, a fountain, stone benches, and a shaded pergola that provide a serene and beautiful place for a quiet moment or joyous occasion. This beautiful venue in historic Gastonia, NC is perfect for a small wedding, birthday party, business after hours or quinceanera. Our Mission to promote companion animal welfare
in the community through advocacy, education and service.

The ALGC Board meets the third Monday of each month from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Meeting location is the downstairs board room at the Gaston Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic, 425 W. Franklin Blvd., Gastonia, NC. The meetings are open to the general public, and we welcome you to join us.  Come learn about our many programs!

Volunteer Information

We are always looking for volunteers! If you enjoy helping animals, come join us. We have many different projects including: Room To Run - building fenced enclosures to get a dogs off chains; Pets To Go! - help get pets loving homes; Pet Food Pantry - collecting, transporting and stocking our pet food pantry; and Ruth's Garden - our beautiful, botanical garden which is available for venue rental requires lots of tinder, loving care. You pick the program and time you want to spend, we will help you find the perfect program.  All of these program exist to help pets and their owners.  Become involved and see the positive difference that you can make!
